Congressman Dennis Kucinich to Barnstorm with Norman Solomon on Sunday
Progressive stalwart Dennis Kucinich will join Norman Solomon in several last-minute, get-out-the-vote events this Sunday in Marin and Sonoma counties. The Congressman is an enthusiastic Solomon supporter -- having worked closely with him on peace and justice issues for more than 12 years. At two events, Kucinich and Solomon will join volunteers in phone-banking to district voters.
- 2:00 pm: Petaluma rally & phone bank at the Apple Box Restaurant, 224 B Street
- 4:00 pm: Central Marin County house party/fundraiser at a private home in Kentfield
- 7:00 pm: San Rafael Campaign HQ phone-banking, 874 4th Street
- 7:30 pm: San Rafael City Plaza rally (program starts at 7:45pm)
In a widely-distributed fundraising email last week, Congressman Kucinich praised Solomon as "a powerful intellectual, a gifted writer and an activist who is willing to put himself on the line for the principled causes of peace, justice and the environment. He will be one unique member of Congress."
Rep. Kucinich is one of many national progressive advocates and artists who have campaigned with Solomon, including Phil Donahue, Sean Penn, Hunter Lovins, Daniel Ellsberg, Elliott Gould and, most recently, Jackson Browne.
Along with Kucinich, other past or present Congress members endorsing Solomon are Raul Grijalva (Congressional Progressive Caucus co-chair), John Conyers (dean of the Congressional Black Caucus), Grace Napolitano, former Rep. Alan Grayson and former Rep. Dan Hamburg, who represented the northern part of the current district.
